Despite several advances over the years, women still face a fair share of inequality in the workplace. And this will continue into the age of automation unless measures are taken in the business world to correct this.

Despite the progress in the past decade, women still face adversity in the workforce

The McKinsey report on women at work: Transitions in the age of automation released in June 2019 shows that “creative new solutions are needed to enable women to seize new opportunities in the automation age”.

Countries that were surveyed included South Africa and other emerging economies including China and Mexico.

The study also looked at developed economies such as Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Take a look at the report above for more details on the kinds of job losses that are likely to occur because of automation.

It also explains how women can be more prepared to transition between occupations to take advantage of new opportunities and adapt to the new world of work.
